Brooklyn
Today we walked around in brooklyn. We got some sick doughnuts in a small french speaking bakery, I took a chocolate and earlgrey doughnut, rob took a dolce de lece with almonds. Then we kinda got lost in a not so recommendable area, once back on our track "after a sketchy buss ride" we went in a small delicatessen. We had some Gehackte leber (chopped live with eggs and onions) a some pretty amazing bagels.
Katz's / Clinton st bakery
Day two, we started our morning with a triple shot expresso, the only served coffe and nothing else. I will have to take a picture off next time. After this we headed towards the Clinton st bakery. People were already waiting in front of it so we got our name on the list (aprox an hour wait) and went for a walk around the block. This took us to some pretty cool places, we found a barbecue place that we are gonna hit up soon a pretty sweet skate shop and last but not least katz's delicatessen. Kats'z is one of the oldest delicatessen in new york, we took just one corned meet sandwich (pickled fleisch for the connoisseur). It was pretty mind blowing, my great grandma used to prepare it when I was a child and this place brought it back to me. After this little side track we turned back to our original destination and ordered more breakfast. Robert ordered some mexican things (some sort of tortilla toped with eggs guacamole chorizo and a lot of other stuf), I went for the pancakes. Once again the food was really good, i can't believe i'm saying that but it seems that it is way easier to find good food and at decent price in the states than back in europe.
